• Kent A 12 v 24 East London A

It was a bad day for the A team. We got off to a terrible start, missed a couple of balls, but got punished heavily for our mistakes and found ourselves 8-1 down after the first set, which set the tone for the match. We found ourselves 15-3 down at the halfway point but managed to finish the match 24-12.

It's been a poor start to the season for the A team, but we have played 2 of the top 3 teams away from home, and 4 of the next 6 matches are now at home. Im confident that this team has the talent and ability to turn the season around with some good home form and a bit of momentum. We'll dust ourselves off and be ready for a huge home game against the current regional champions on 12th March.

    Kent B 9 v 27 East London B

Coming into this match we always knew it was going to be a tough match.

We had a bad lose against Central london,so we needed to redeem ourselves.

The first set we lost 8.1 ,east London didn't miss a ball and had 5 dishes .

Then it just went bad to worse for us. Silly mistakes and poor breaks killed us.

Need to dust the losing feeling down and give Essex a match next month

Tony stork winning 3.4 was our only high

    Kent C 18 v 18 East London C

A tough fought draw yesterday for Kent C team the sets went each way lost 1st & 3rd set 5-4 won 2nd & 4th set 5-4 so the draws was the fair result against a strong team on there own tables mentions for John Bevan & Steve Brooks on both winning 3-4

Kent Ladies 12 v 16 East London Ladies

Kent Seniors 11 v 17 East London Seniors

We knew it was going to be a tough ask today against some strong opposition and away from home and also not helped by having some our key players absent too….however we fought hard in the first 2 sets to be 7-7 and with our horns locked at 8-8 we then managed to lose 7 consecutive frames which was tragic for our hopes of getting anything from this battle. Final score was 17-11. It’s imperative we improve and quickly in time for the next match.

Very few highs but mentions for Dean Coppen who won 2/3 and a very nice break and dish from Bill Rase over Tony Halpin

Kent Masters 15 v 13 East London Masters

After impressively beating a strong Central London team next on our fixture list was an equally strong East London side who were determined to fight all the way until the very end. After narrowly winning the first set 4-3 we then kicked on and took the second 5-2 and the third 4-3 so heading into the final set Kent were 13-8 needing just 2 frames and with a spirited fight back from London we indeed just got the 2 frames in the final set to win the match 15-13. Great win and notable mention once again for Barry Johnson winning 4 out of 4 for the 3rd time this season so going 12/12 - very impressive indeed Barry. Another mention for Paul Chuter for back to back 4 out of 4 and so far 11 from 12 for the season.

  • Kent A v Central London A

Central London’s always a tricky challenge as the venue is not the easiest & the opposition is always loud. Unfortunately we fell behind in set 1 & we were playing catch up. At times it looked like it could be a very big loss but we steadied the ship narrowly losing 20-16, which was disappointing for us all. We need to move on to the next & re-focus. Notable mentions: Andy Esgrove & James Albert winning 3 from 4.

    Kent B v Central London B

Always a tough & close match, but today was a tough & disappointing result. We lost 23-13 after losing set 1 6-3 we battled to get to 7-6 down in the 2nd set, but then the rails came off. Next match against East London away, need to focus hard for this match. Notable mentions: Scott Gambell & Charley McDowell winning 3 from 4.

    Kent C v Central London C

Not a very good day for the team 24-12 loss. The opposition were a very noisy & unsportsmanlike team for a lot of the match to which a few of the lads got drawn into that meaning we missed out on 4-5 more frames than we did. Hopefully we can from this & move onto next match. Notable mention: Baz Martin winning 3 from 4.

Kent Ladies v Central London Ladies

A good solid effort from the Kent Ladies securing another 19-9 win. Central London battled hard with many frames going down to the wire. The Kent Ladies were looking sharp in their new shirts - big thanks to Jordan and sponsors. A very good start to the season with a 2/2 win. Let’s keep up momentum ladies! Notable mentions: Amy Cook & Jan Spinner winning 4 from 4.

Kent Seniors v Central London Seniors

We thought today was going to be a tricky challenge today & it was. They were a rowdy bunch & at times unsportsmanlike but we rallied as a team & with some quality finishes when needed we managed a well deserved draw 14-14. Noticeable mentions: Mark Kelly & Baz Martin who had some big punches at crucial times & Bill Rase with a superb 3/3 so well done to them guys. Solid team performance.

Kent Masters v Central London Masters

After an impressive start to the season, Central London was going to be a much tougher test. What a team performance today, dominating right from the 1st to last set, eventually running out 19-9 winners, sending a clear message to all other masters teams. Noticeable mentions: winning 4 from 4 go to Barry Johnson, Paul Chuter & Ian Thomas.

  • Kent Masters v Herts Masters

A great 21-7 victory against a new team for our region was an impressive start to our season. All round great performances from all players especially the newbies Martin & Jan picking up their first wins for the team in impressive style. Notable performances from our newly selected England master Andy Esgrove for his 4/4 as well as the same from Barry Johnson & not to mention Jan Spinner & Steve Brooks 100% with 3/3. Well done team; a great start.

    Kent Seniors v Herts Seniors

VC Metin Tomris stepped up to inspire the troops & try to get our first win of the season against an unknown opponent in Hertfordshire. We knew we needed a big win to send a message to the rest that Kent are still in this & that is exactly what we did. The contest was effectively over after the first set as only two frames were dropped; the team were inspired! The team proceeded to go on a 15 game win streak to put the match to bed. A few special mentions: Craig Mallinder securing 4/4, solid performance, not threatening to quit once. James Albert: 3/4 only losing a frame due to being hangry. Bill Rase: 2/2 100%. Dean Coppen: assistant to VC - unbelievable support & thanks for getting instructions across to the team. Shot of the day goes to Dean Coppen with a black that almost took the roof down.

    Kent A v Herts A

A convincing 28-8 win for the A team against a brand new Hertfordshire team. Plenty of good performances but a full house from Paul Chuter, Matt Noakes and Jamie Gamble with a 4/4 on his debut as well!

    Kent Ladies v Herts Ladies

First game back for the ladies since the Nationals and what a brilliant start to the season for the Kent ladies. Opened 6-1 up in the first set! Hertfordshire found their feet and we had a marginal win in the second and third. A good solid effort from the team securing the fourth set and a whopping 19-9 win! A very enjoyable afternoon and a fantastic start to the season. Congratulations to Harriet Haynes for winning 4/4 and a special mention to Karen Darby for making her debut and winning 2/3. Good luck to the new lovely Hertfordshire Ladies for the rest of the season! Up the Kents! ❤️🎱

  • East Sussex A v Kent A

A strengthened Sussex A team defeated the Kent A team 19-17 in a very tight affair. Kent found themselves 10-8 down at the halfway stage but fought back well in the third set and found themselves 14-13 up going into the last set. A couple of missed opportunities from Kent and some solid pool from Sussex cost us in the last set and we narrowly missed out. It was a tough day at the office with no 4/4 but a 3/4 for Metin Tomris and Ian Thomas. A special mention to Andy Esgrove who couldn't make the game but qualified for the England Masters team instead. Congratulations Andy 👏

    East Sussex B v Kent B

As defending regional champions we wanted to make a good start to the season. 1st set we won 8-1 making life easy for us. Then we carried on and won the match 26-10. We had 3 new signings in the team: Scott Gambell, Kevin Keheller and Adam Wisdom winning 3/3. The rest of the team battled away. On to the next match vs East London away after the new year 👊

    East Sussex C v Kent C

Great result for the Kent C team with a 24-12 win over East Sussex C team. Not the most spacious place to play in however it was a solid squad performance; everyone played their part.

Well played: Mark Kelley 4/4, Baz Martin, Ash Dunlop, John Bevan & Les Boddy all securing 3/4. Great team effort all round 👍
